I agree with you about the 'hook/wait to the end of story' part - it annoys the heck out of me also.

But... I do not agree with you that this is the definition of creative non-fiction.

I absolutely adore creative non-fiction - I love storytelling. As long as they use the proper format of communication (for semi-normal humans like me), meaning that the most important info is stated very early on.
