I can completely understand.

Here (in Australia), everyone gets free Medicare and most medications are heavily subsidised. His medications only cost me just over $20 per month.

It makes no difference whether you're employed or not, everything from seeing a doctor, a specialist, or having stay and surgery in the hospital is covered by the government. I guess the only exception is dentistry - unless it's an emergency.

I live in a really lucky country :)
