I love my garden too. We have a few things growing there this year; tomatoes, cucumbers, potatoes, eggplant, and lots of herbs of course :) - not to mention all the fruit trees such as lemons, tangelos, oranges, plums etc.

We've had our solar panels in for almost a year now and pay at least 75% less for electricity, although that's expected when you live in one of the sunniest places on earth :)

With the solar panels I would advise you to do your research for a well reviewed brand as some of our friends got the cheapest ones and see no difference in their electricity bills...
