This means that you're a natural morning person. Meaning that you're genetically hardwired to operate at optimum when you rise early. You are in the 36% of the population of morning larks.

Now imagine what it's like for the rest of us. Imagine that each night for the last 10 years you went to bed at around 9pm but wasn't able to fall asleep until 1am – every single night. You'd just lay there, wide awake; no matter what you tried you couldn't make yourself fall asleep before 1am, but still had to get up for work at 6:00am.

This is what's it's like for many people, including me, I'm a night owl. I used to work in the construction sector and almost drove myself to the ground.

Remember, we are not all alike.

Also, we now know that ALL teenagers temporarily turn into night owls, but because they have to be up early for school, their grades start to go down, because they can't sleep at night, even if they lay there in bed. This is responsible for some boys developing Schizophrenia around the age of 18.

Let's just stop putting everyone into one basket! It's dangerous and unhealthy!
